But not available on Internet Explorer, because Scroogled. Today, Google announced that Gmail’s Inbox is now available on Android Tablets, iPads, Safari and Firefox. So it’s not just available on Chrome, Android smartphones and iPhones. So it’s good to see Inbox expanding to more platforms. Google has shown in the past that they want to get their services on all platforms and have more people using them, thus getting more ad views and more revenue. So this shouldn’t be a surprise at all.
Google does say that Internet Explorer will be getting support for Google Inbox soon, but who knows when that “soon” is. Also, how many people actually use Internet Explorer? Google hopes to replace Gmail with Inbox, soon. Which I’m sure will make a few people upset, especially power users. As Inbox doesn’t really seem to be useful for power users that get a ton of emails. You can easily opt into Inbox, however you still need an invite. Google has said that they are still listening to feedback from their customers and users about Inbox by Gmail. So if you have an issue, or think it’s missing a feature, make sure to send feedback into Google, and who knows, Google may listen. It will be interesting to see if Google brings Inbox to Windows Phone, as they’ve never really had a good relationship with Microsoft or Windows Phone. For example, Microsoft had the Scroogled campaign to bash Google, which they finally got rid of.
For those that still need an invite to inbox, you can request one by emailing inbox@google.com, or you can simply ask one of your friends for one.
