Motorola has a strong track record of pushing out major firmware updates to their Moto phones across the world. You can blame Google’s initial Android 5.0 Lollipop code for messing that whole thing, delaying the release of the new firmware for just about every OEM out there.
It was towards the tail end of last month we saw Android Lollipop continue its slow rollout across Motorola’s smartphone portfolio. That’s when 5.0.2 officially hit US models of the Moto G 2nd Gen in the US, as well as 1st and 2nd Gen in India.
After Android 5.0.2 began hitting some lucky Moto G 2nd Gen owners in the UK and Germany last week as a soak test, that update is now officially available for all. Still rolling out in stages over-the-air, you may not see the update right away but rest assured it is indeed coming. Because Lollipop is the biggest update to Android we’ve seen in years, you may also want to check out our post “15 Tips & Tricks for Android Lollipop Users” as well. Cheers!
