Xiaomi has announced two new smartphones earlier today at their event in China. The Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro are company’s latest and greatest smartphone offerings. These two handsets look the same, but their internals are somewhat different. Both sport 5.7-inch displays, but their resolution is different. The Mi Note features a 1080p panel, while the Mi Note Pro sports a QuadHD resolution display. RAM count and processors versions are also different, the cheaper, Mi Note, model has 3GB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, while the Mi Note Pro comes with 4GB of RAM and is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 octa-core chip.
That being said, these two devices have something else in common except the general design and screen size. Both have the same image sensors. 13-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX214 BSI sensor) is located on the back of both of these handsets (f/2.0 aperture, 6-element lens) and is flanked by an LED flash. This shooter also comes with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and it’s supposed to offer solid images. These devices have the front-facing cameras as well, of course, the 4-megapixel sensor (2µm pixel size, like the UltraPixel one on the One M8) is in charge of selfies and what not. Talking about sensors, the first camera samples showed up in China. If you take a look at the gallery below this article, you’ll notice a couple of Mi Note / Mi Note Pro camera samples, there’s even a night shot in there for you to take a look at. That being said, these images have been taken by a professional photographer, but still… they look really good.
Both of these handsets are specced incredibly well I’d say. In case you’d like to know more about them, visit our separate announcement posts for the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. Both of these handsets will be available for pre-order on January 20th, and will go on sale on January 27 in China. That being said, let us know what you think of both of these devices, are you interested in getting either one?
