Xiaomi’s long-awaited event in Beijing has come to an end. We’ve covered it at length and I’m sure you’ve already gone through some of our coverage, but let’s sum up real quick. This Chinese tech giant has announced two new smartphones, a headset and a new version of the Mi Box. Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are company’s newest handsets, both of which have a lot to offer. Xiaomi Mi Headphones are a really affordable pair of headphones, which also offer a lot for the price at least on paper. And last, but not least. Xiaomi’s follow-up to the Mi Box, the Mi Box Mini, which basically looks like a regular wall adapter, more or less.
That being said, we’re here to take a closer look at the Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro. After weeks of rumors, leaks and official teasers, Xiaomi has finally announced their smartphone offerings. Interesting enough, the majority of those rumors were somewhat off. Neither one of them actually guessed the name of these devices, though some of them were spot on as far as the specs go, at least in the Mi Note Pro’s case. These handsets look basically the same, but their specifications are significantly different. There are a bunch of images in the gallery below, if you’d like to take a closer look at the design. Talking about the design, both of these handsets offer metallic frame, are 6.95mm thick and weight 161 grams, which is not bad at all. Their design is nothing special looking from afar, but as you come closer, you do notice the metal around the device and a rather nice design overall. I know that not many people will appreciate the capacitive buttons down below though, I know I don’t.
Both of these handsets feature a 5.7-inch displays, but the difference is in their resolution. The Mi Note features a 1080p panel, while the Mi Note Pro comes with a 2K display. They feature the Snapdragon 801 and 810 respectively. The Mi Note offers 3GB of RAM and will be available in either the 16 or the 64GB version, while the Mi Note Pro will come in 64GB version only and offers 4GB of RAM. Both of these phablets have a 13-megapixel camera on the back which is flanked by an LED flash, and a 4-megapixel snapper up front.
