What are you up to? Anything happening? Plans for this Friday night? You can answer all of those questions by simply creating events in your Google Calendar(or whatever calendar app you happen to use on your smartphone)and one that helps create those calendar events is UpTo, the calendar that lets you let others know, what you’re “up to” at any given moment. It’s much more than a replacement calendar app though. in fact, it’s not even really meant as a replacement. It works with your Google calendar you see, while letting you have access to a gazillion other calendars whenever you need, and now you can do all of that with a little more ease thanks to UpTo’s brand new Chrome extension.
The beauty behind UpTo is that has a wealth of calendars dedicated to different things like sports schedules, dates for concerts you might have purchased tickets to, or want to purchase tickets to, TV schedules so you can stay up to date on your favorite shows and all the latest episodes for them, and you can even add calendars for music and movie premiers and even enter in calendars for popular meetups. It does all this alongside all of your normal Google Calendar entries so you don’t have to bounce back and forth between multiple different calendars or apps. It’s all handled within one.
While the Chrome Extension is the focus here as its new and having the capability from within your desktop chrome browser is certainly nice, they offer an Android version of the app too of course, which comes complete with a homescreen widget so you can see things at a glance without having to open up the calendar at all. UpTo also syncs your other existing calendars besides Google, like Facebook Events and Outlook, so it really is rather comprehensive. All in all this is a pretty good calendar app worth checking out, although we’re still waiting on a couple of features like full Android Wear support and perhaps a Material Design refresh to line it up more with the style of Android Lollipop.
