Oppo R8200 And R8205 Get Certified In China, 720p Display And 2GB Of RAM In Tow

Oppo R8200 R8205 TENAA_1

Oppo has been rather active in Q4 this year, the company has released their new Oppo N3 flagship alongside the Oppo R5 handset, which was the thinnest phone in the world at the time, though it’s not anymore. The company has also released the Oppo 3007 mid-ranger quite recently, and now we get some information about two new devices which will probably get announced in the near future, Oppo R8200 and R8205.

Both of these handsets got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) and it seems like both of these devices will expand Oppo’s R line. These two handsets are pretty much identical, except for the fact that the R8205 model will support CDMA networks, while the R8200 will not. That being said, let’s check out what they have to offer spec-wise. Both of these handsets will feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) TFT display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB). These handsets will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, the manufacturer of said chip wasn’t revealed by the listing, but I’m guessing MediaTek will supply SoC’s for these handsets, I could be wrong though. 4G LTE will be available on both of these handsets and they sport a rather plain design with a metallic trim and glossy back covers and will be available in Blue and White color options according to the listing. Both of these handsets will measure 140.6 × 70.1 × 6.85mm and will weight 130 grams. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed here with Oppo’s ColorOS on top of it and 13 and 5-megapixel cameras will be available on the back and the front, respectively. Wi-Fi 820.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and the usual array of sensors were also listed on TENAA.

Judging by the specifications these handsets will sport and Oppo’s pricing habits thus far, these handsets won’t be cheap, but who knows, perhaps Oppo decides to go Huawei’s route and actually surprise all of us with price points here. I’m referring to Huawei’s recently announced Honor 6 Plus handset which is surprisingly affordable considering the specs it carries. Either way, Oppo is expected to launch this handset in both of its version rather soon.
