Meizu’s Blue Charm Handsets To Be Powered By A Modified Version Of Sailfish OS?

Meizu Blue Charm Sailfish OS leak_1

Meizu’s Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note handsets have been rumored for a long time now. The company will finally unveil those devices at their tomorrow’s event in China. These handsets have basically the same internals, but the Blue Charm Note has a somewhat bigger display, 5.5-inches compared to Blue Charm’s 4.7 or 4.8-inch display, depending on which rumor looks more legit to you. Meizu Blue Charm Note got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) recently and revealed its specs and design along the way, more on that later though, we have some new information to share with you first.

Everyone assumed that these Blue Charm devices will be powered by Meizu’s Flyme UI, which is kind of logical, but that might not be the case according to the latest leaked images. Let me just tell you that this is very, very unlikely and this leak completely surprised me. The leaked images (which you can check down below) allegedly show these two handsets running a modified version of Sailfish OS, I say allegedly because you can’t exactly see which device’s are we talking about. Meizu is almost certainly going to stick to Android and keep pushing company’s Flyme UI, it makes sense, I really don’t see them switching to Sailfish OS with their Blue Charm line. This just doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, Sailfish OS is a solid OS, but it has many disadvantages compared to Android, at least in my humble opinion. Either way, this is a really, really strange leak and it got me a bit intrigued, to be quite honest.

Regarding the specs of these handsets, they’ll both sport 1080p panels, the only difference is in their size, as I already mentioned. 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage will be available in both devices, same goes for MediaTek’s 64-bit MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz which comes with Mali T760 GPUfor graphics rendering. 13-megapixel camera will be located at the back of these handsets and the 5-megapixel snapper will be available on the front side of the device. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will quite probably power this handset considering we’ve seen it listed by TENAA, which makes this whole Sailfish OS leak even more unlikely.
