Are you in the UK and looking to pick up a Moto X through MotoMaker? Well today’s your day. Motorola opened up MotoMaker into the UK today. So now you can go ahead and design your own Moto X and choose a leather or wood back, choose 16GB or 32GB, etc., there’s all kinds of options to choose from. And I’ve seen some really cool combinations already from MotoMaker. Motorola is selling the Pure Edition (aka SIM Free) for just £419.99, which is much cheaper than it was earlier this year when the original Moto X launched over there.
We went to Chicago last month for Motorola’s launch event. We got to see how Motorola makes these devices, they also showed us all kinds of features of the Moto X (2014) which was really cool. We also spent about 3-4 weeks with the AT&T variant of the Moto X and really did like it. Motorola improved in all the spots that the original Moto X was lacking. Like the specs. We now have a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage with no microSD card slot, 13MP camera on the back (it’s a Sony sensor this time around), 2MP front-facing camera, and a 2300mAh battery. There’s also Android 4.4.4 Kitkat on board.
The Moto X is a pretty spectacular device. Especially if you like stock Android. Motorola has added some really cool features on top, which are basically through their own apps, so if you don’t like them or don’t want them, you can just simply uninstall them. Now only if other OEMs would follow that path. How many of you in the UK are looking forward to designing your own Moto X through MotoMaker? Let us know your thoughtsin the comments below.
