Full metal body on the way for Samsung SM-A500

Galaxy-Alpha-QA-Test_011-636x424

We have already seen some information surfacing on the Samsung SM-A500, a mid-tier phone based on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, thanks to entries with the Bluetooth SIG and the GFXBench site. Sources are now revealing some information about the device which is part of a new line of smartphones from Samsung. According to these sources, the SM-A500 will have a full metal body and will not have a removable back cover. That will differ from the Galaxy Alpha and many other Samsung devices that have hit the market recently. However, the source does not indicate whether the back cover will also be made of metal or a faux metal solution like what LG did with the LG G3.

Other specs for the device include a 5-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 16GB of storage, a 2,330mAh battery, and a rear-facing 8MP camera to go with a 5MP front-facing camera. According to the source, the microSD slot will be a hybrid used for both a microSD card or a nano SIM. Unlike Samsung’s top-tier devices, the SM-A500 will not have fingerprint or heart rate monitors. The device will also not get water and dust resistance features.
