It stands to reason then that you can also set it up so that your Nest thermostat will set itself to a specific temperature when you enter a certain area within the home as well, like when you enter the front door as you come home from work.
There are tons of other useful things made possible by this now supported app, and many other products and services that can now be connected to your Nest through IFTTT for a more well rounded home automation setup. You can set your Nest thermostat to away for example and turn your Phillips Hue bulbs off, or set things up like getting an email sent out to you when the battery on your Nest protect is low which can remind you to swap them out at the most convenient time.
One really great example given by Nest is to have a text message sent to your neighbor when the Nest Protect detects that there is a smoke alarm emergency within your home, which is a great little safety feature that could help you avoid any fire related emergencies.
