Sports, music, TED now Chromecast compatible

A new batch of apps have added casting capabilities so users can enjoy native support for their Chromecast devices. Headlining the newest group of apps with Chromecast support is TED, a popular service that provides TED Talks, presentations from a variety of presenters on inspirational topics. Users should find plenty of new content available as the annual TED conference just wrapped up, although older material is available through the app as well.

Sports fans will find the Pac-12 Networks app now supports casting. Pac-12 Networks carries 30 different sports throughout the year including major sports like football, basketball, soccer and baseball along with a whole host of other sports events.

Music fans have a couple new choices, one of which is the MTV app. Yes, it may be questionable as to whether MTV is really a music platform any longer, but fans of the network will enjoy access to programs like Finding Carter or Catfish. Chromecast support is now available in the Qello Concerts app as well. Qello provides full-length concert footage and music documentaries. Qello is a pay service, but Chromecast owners can take advantage of a special all-access free pass deal for one month, available through April 19, 2015.
