Jiayu F2 Is A Quad-Core Smartphone Which Comes With 2GB Of RAM And Costs Only 599 Yuan ($95)

There are a lot of smartphone manufacturers in China, as you all know by now. Some of those manufacturers are well-known, like Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei for example, but there are those smaller ones which are trying to make a name for themselves as well. Jiayu is not exactly well-known internationally, but people in China are very well aware of this brand.

This China-based company has announced a new handset which will certainly attract people’s attention in that Asian country. Jiayu F2 is a quad-core smartphone which ships with 2GB of RAM and cost only 599 Yuan ($95), which is just insane. Anyhow, let’s see what else this handset has to offer. Jiayu F2 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 64GB). This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. This thing comes with an 8-megapixel main shooter (Sony IMX179) located on the back of the device, and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. 3,000mAh battery also ships with this thing and we’re talking about a dual SIM handset here which offers 4G LTE connectivity. Jiayu F2 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed and measures 143.5 x 69.8 x 8.9mm, while it will be available in white color only it seems, at least that’s the information that is available at the moment.

The first batch of the Jiayu F2 handset will be available for sale in China ahead of the Chinese Sprint Festival. In case you’re wondering which bands and frequencies does it support: FDD-LTE B3/B7/B20, WCDMA 900/2100MHz, GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz. As you can see, this thing offers a bit older CPU, which is rather solid though, but overall, it’s a great value for your money. This thing offers double the RAM Meizu M1 and Redmi 2 (1GB version) are offering for less money and I’m sure that it will attract a lot of consumers in China. I doubt Jiayu will sell this thing internationally, at least not officially, we might see it offered through various resellers though. Either way, if you’re interested, stay tuned.
