It Seems Like Nokia’s Android-Powered Smartphone Would Be In High Demand

Nokia C1 leak_1

Nokia has launched their first Android-powered tablet in China a couple of days ago. The company has sold 20,000 units of the tablet (all they had) in only 4 minutes and 18 seconds, and the demand was through the roof according to reports. The company will offer the second batch of this tablet on January 15, we’ll see how long will it take them to sell out everything this time around. This tablet is manufactured by what’s left of Nokia, not the part that was acquired by Microsoft. Nokia is technically not allowed to manufacture smart devices until 2016 as per their deal with Microsoft, but the company found a way around that and hired Foxconn to do that for them.

Several polls were held in China following great demand for Nokia’s N1 tablet, and it seems like the vast majority of people think Nokia should release an Android smartphone as well. PhoneArena actually put up a poll as well, and they got some interesting results as well, 95% of voters think Nokia should release and Android-powered smartphone. We’ve already seen some leaks of the mysterious Nokia C1 smartphone which will allegedly be Android-powered. According to the previous leak, this handset will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128GB of internal storage (depending on the version). 20.1-megapixel camera will reportedly be located at the back of this handset, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. Intel’s quad-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz will allegedly power on this thing and the phone will ship with a 3,100mAh battery. Android Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device with Nokia’s Z Launcher on top of it, which we’ve already seen included in the N1.

It looks like many people still like Nokia and are rooting for the company. This Finnish company made a lot of mistakes in the past, Symbian, MeeGo and then the exclusive partnership with Microsoft. It seems like the sale of Nokia Devices and Services businesses might actually benefit the company in the end. The Nokia N1 will launch in Europe next month and we’ll let you know if some new information pops up regarding Nokia’s mysterious Android smartphone. Would you be interested in buying Nokia’s Android handset?
