HTC-made Nexus 9 is Google’s newest tablet offering. This time around Google decided to switch to the high-end sector as far as their Nexus smartphone and tablet are concerned, both of those devices are high-end offerings now and as such their prices are up there as well. Both of those devices along with the Nexus Player and Android 5.0 Lollipop were unveiled last month by Google and they’re already available in certain markets, but there are still many markets which are eagerly expecting Google’s newest Nexus offerings. India is one of those markets.
Nexus 9 was supposed to be available in India on November 12th according to the Play Store, but that didn’t happen. It seems like the device will arrive soon though, according to Zauba. According to that import and export tracking website, the tablet has been shipped to India already and is waiting for the official release in that Asian country. According to Zauba, 2000 units of the Nexus 9 tablets were imported on November 15th and the value of the shipment was $705,000 USD, $352.44 per unit. 10 units were shipped into India a day before, November 14th, though those devices were sent for testing purposes according to the listing. More Nexus 9 devices will soon follow, for sure.
HTC Nexus 9 features a 8.9-inch 2K (2048 x 1536) IPS LCD display along with 2GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs and either 16 or 32GB of non-expandable internal storage, depending on the model you get. This tablet is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra K1, a 64-bit dual-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz which comes with Kepler DX1 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of the device, you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera and a LED flash while there’s a 1.6-megapixel shooter located on the front of this tablet. The Nexus 9 ships with a non-removable 6700mAh battery while Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device. The Nexus 9 measures 228.2 x 153.7 x 7.9mm and weighs 425 grams (Wi-Fi model) / 436 (3G/LTE model). Nexus 9 has a nice metallic frame and looks really great overall, at least in my humble opinion. The tablet is also pretty thin at 7.9mm and HTC’s BoomSound speakers are also a part of this package.
The 16GB version of the Nexus 9 is priced at $468.47 while the 32GB model with LTE connectivity will set you back $727.83 if you live in India. You can get this tablet in Indigo Black and Lunar White colors.
