Indian market has gotten tons of great devices over the last few months. Google has launched company’s first batch of Android One device in India and a ton of other manufacturers have sent their products there and Indian consumers really have a ton of options when it comes to purchasing mobile technology gadgets. That being said, there’s always room for solid products, no matter which market are we talking about. Dell has just launched two new tablets in India, Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8 (3000 series). Both of these tablets are actually mid-range offerings, let’s check out what they have to offer.

“Dell is focusing strongly on the tablet segment in India. With voice enablement, we are confident of capturing a sizable part of the highly segmented tablet market. The addition of voice calling comes as a result of customer feedback that highlighted how increasingly consumers feel the need to converge their mobile technology needs into a single device. Backed by Dell’s strong distribution network and the latest addition of the mobile specialty retail (MSR) network, our consumers will be able to experience and buy this product quite easily.” said P. Krishnakumar, Executive Director & General Manager, Consumer & Small Business, Dell India.

Dell Venue 7 features a 7-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 64GB). This tablet is powered by Intel’s Atom dual-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and it ships with Android 4.4 KitKat. On the back of this device, you’ll find a 5-megapixel camera while there’s a 1-megapixel shooter included on the front side of this device. This is a 3G capable device and it brings voice calling along with it. Dell Venue 7 packs a 4550mAh battery on the inside and it weighs 290 grams while it is 8.95mm thick. Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 are also a part of this package, of course. Dell has also included Waves MAXXAudio Pro audio technology here, for a premium audio experience.

Dell Venue 8, on the other hand, sports an 8-inch full HD WXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB). Dell Venue 8 is powered by Intel’s Atom Z3480 dual-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz and it ships with a 5-megapixel rear-facing and a 2-megapixel front-facing cameras. 3G, Voice calling and MAXXAudio Pro audio technology are a part of this tablet as well, same goes for Wi-FI, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 4550mAh battery, while Dell Venue 8 is also the same thickness as the Dell Venue 7. This tablet is somewhat heavier though, it weighs 338 grams.

If you live in India, Dell Venue 7 will cost you INR 14,999 ($243) while the Dell Venue 8 will set you back INR 18,999 ($308). You can also get protective cases for these tablets directly from Dell, same goes for Dell Venue Rotating Folio for the Venue 8 tablet.
