Xiaomi Redmi Note successor to pack a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core chipset

According to a report published in China this weekend, Xiaomi is getting ready to launch a high-end Redmi Note successor which it hopes will take on Meizu’s recently-announced MX4.


The device is set to pack a 5.5-inch display, be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6595 chipset with four 2.2GHz Cortex-A17 and four 1.7GHz Cortex A-7 cores, include 3GB of RAM, incorporate a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as an astonishing 8-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 3,500 mAh non-removable battery.



This new flagship is expected to be available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, priced at $165, $215 and $245, respectively. Unfortunately, the price of the largest variant is still unknown.


Like all of Xiaomi’s most recent smartphones, it will come with gesture controls and temperature sensors, together with the latest advances in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and NFC connectivity.
