Google Nexus 6 / X : What kind of Camera Technology will come with it?

Nexus_5_AH2_06

The last two Nexus smartphones have both featured a 8MP camera on the back. With nothing more in terms of bells and whistles, other than OIS on the Nexus 5. And that was probably taken from the LG G2 last year. So what should we expect in this year’s Nexus 6? Well we could see a 8MP sensor once again, although it would be nice to see Google and Motorola bump it up to a 13MP sensor to match the Moto X, which is what this year’s Nexus is supposedly being modeled from.

Historically, camera’s on the Nexus round of smartphones have been pretty bad. Although the Nexus 5 did get a bit better after some OTAs and the Google Camera hit the Play Store. But it’s still not spectacular like a lot of it’s competitors. Although I have a feeling that may change with the Nexus 6. As there are a lot of new things in the camera part of Android L, as well as some new API’s that came in KitKat last year. So keep your fingers crossed for a great camera on the Nexus 6, as most of the time it’s down to software since almost everyone uses the same Sony sensor on their phone. Even the iPhone does.

What kind of camera would you like to see on the Nexus 6 this year? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
