Typically, we don’t talk much about the camera on a tablet. Why? Because most people don’t take pictures with their tablets that often. But it is there, and a lot of people use it for video calls on Hangouts, Skype, etc. On the first Nexus 7, we didn’t have a camera at all on the back. On the second generation model, Google and ASUS stuck a 5MP camera on the back. It wasn’t the best, but it also wasn’t the worse. So what are we expecting on the Nexus 9 this go ’round? We already know that HTC is making it, as it’s basically been confirmed by them.
HTC does actually make some really good cameras. Even though the UltraPixel doesn’t support that opinion. I’m hoping for a 5-megapixel or a 8-megapixel rear facing camera on the Nexus 9 this year with about a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Especially since so many people use the front-facing camera for video chats, or even just selfies. The HTC One M8 has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, so I don’t think it’s too far out to want a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on the HTC Nexus 9. It’d definitely be a nice step up from the 2MP camera we normally see on the front of tablets and even smartphones.
How many of you actually use the rear-facing camera on your tablet? Let us know in the comments below.
