The Alleged ZTE Nubia Z9 Spotted At MWC In Barcelona

ZTE has announced their Grand S3 handset, the device which deploys EveVerify’s EyePrint ID biometric sensor, which is rather interesting. The company did, however, showcase a bunch of devices which were launch prior to MWC. We’ve already covered the hands-ons with the company’s flagship, Nubia Z7, as well as Nubia X6, Nubia Z7 Mini and Nubia Z7 Max. We’re not here to do another hands-on post, but to share a rather interesting image. According to the source, the device you can see in this image is the Nubia Z9. This photo was taken at the Mobile World Congress, but the company didn’t announce the device just yet. ZTE is expected to announce this thing in the next couple of months though.

The Nubia Z9 was recently spotted in a bunch of images taken from a promo video which leaked in China, and it seems like this is that very same device. Once again we don’t see the front side of the device, but its back side instead. It seems like the device sports a metallic trim around the device, and what seems to be glass on the back. It is not confirmed that this is, in fact, Nubia Z9, but it sure looks like it. This handset will be ZTE’s new flagship, and is expected to launch in mid-2015, though ZTE might jump the gun and launch it earlier this time around. You can expect a flagship specs inside of this thing, and it sure looks like the device will offer premium design.

We don’t have much information about the device itself though, we can only guess what will its specifications look like. This thing will most likely sport a 5.5-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) display (just like its predecessor), 3 or 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core chip on the inside. 16 or 20-megapixel OIS camera is also a possibility, and the device is expected to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed here with ZTE’s proprietary UI on top of Google’s operating system.
