A couple of weeks ago, Motorola did things a little bit differently then they (and other manufacturers) usually do. It all began when the company started sending out emails advising that they were sending a mystery box to all the media outlets. This immediately sent the rumor mill spinning and everyone seemed mystified at what was going to be released. The week following, mystery boxes did indeed turn up everywhere and inside was the 2015 edition of the company’s budget device, the Moto E LTE. As this is designed as a budget device it seems appropriate that the company decided to forego the typical bells and whistles launch event and instead opted to include a kind of build-your-own cardboard event scene.
Following on from the (literal) unboxing of the Moto E, Motorola did more formally introduce the Moto E at this year’s MWC event in Barcelona. Now, following on from this, it seems the device is finally available to buy from the Motorola website. If you are thinking about picking up one then there are two versions on offer. The first is the headline LTE version and is priced as $149.99 and available in both a black or white edition. If LTE is not needed, then the second version is a standard 3G version which is more affordably priced at $119 and again is available in both a black and white edition. Hit the source link below if you are interested in picking up one from Motorola.
If you missed all the initial announcements and need a quick recap on what’s on offer then the Moto E 2015 comes with a 4.5in IPS display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Inside, the Moto E comes with 1GB RAM and processors differ depending on version. On the 3G variant, the Moto E is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor (clocking at 1.2 GHz). In contrast, the 4G LTE version comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor (clocked at 1.2GHz ). In terms of memory, the Moto E comes with 8GB internal storage as well as a MicroSD card slot for additional storage (up to 32GB). Camera-wise, the Moto E comes equipped with a 5MP rear shooter and a VGA front facing option. Additionally, the Moto E comes with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and all powered by a 2,390mAh battery. Not forgetting the Moto E comes running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
