Mobile World Congress is generally when we see the smartphone industry’s biggest OEMs unveil their flagships for the new year, like Samsung with their upcoming Galaxy S6 for example which is expected to be unveiled during their Unpacked 2015 event on March 1st. HTC has also been rumored to be unveiling their new flagship device, currently being referred to as the HTC One M9, at Mobile World Congress on the same day, and just this afternoon @HTC_UK which is the UK Twitter page for HTC, has just posted an image that states the new HTC One will indeed be revealed on March 1st, accompanied by the message “let them stare.”
So far we have seen nothing but leaks of the new HTC One, so we don’t officially know what it will look like as of yet, although the leaks and renders are painting a pretty decent picture of what we can possibly expect. If it turns out like some of the renders we’ve seen, the new HTC One will be sporting smaller bezels and a redesigned set of Boom Sound speakers, a single camera design rumored to be around 20.7MP and a slightly tweaked body design although not straying too far from the look of the HTC One M8.
With HTC’s message in this teaser it’s clear that HTC believes they have a truly beautifully designed phone on their hands, which we’re sure makes plenty of people eager to see the official unveiling. Now that we know what the actual date of the unveiling is, it hopefully won’t be long before HTC outs the release date and pricing, which they may very well bring up at the their event on March 1st. This is a smart move by HTC since now all eyes won’t be on Samsung and their big device for the first half of the year.
