Report: Samsung Starts Working On New Galaxy Tab And Galaxy Note Tablets

Samsung is aiming to improve in 2015. The company didn’t do all that well in 2014 as far as its smartphone business goes, don’t get me wrong though, this Korean giant is still very much the first smartphone vendor in the world, but their profits took a dive in 2014. Sales went down 30+% for this smartphone manufacturer in 2014 compared to 2013, which is something the company will try to fix in 2015. That being said, we haven’t seen this company release Android-powered tablets for a while now, but it seems that’s about to change soon.

According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung has started working on at least four new tablet offerings. These tablets are a part of Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note lines. The Galaxy Tab AS (Small) (SM-T350/351) and the Galaxy Tab AL (Large) (SM-T550/T551) are a part of the Galaxy Tab line, of course, and they might be successors to the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 and the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, respectively. The other two tablets, SM-P350/351 (Wi-Fi/Cellular) and SM-P550/551 (Wi-Fi/Cellular) could be the successors to the current Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note Pro series of tablets. The SM-P350/351 will quite probably be a smaller Galaxy Note tablet, 7 or 8-inches seems right, while the SM-P550/551 might be Samsung’s 10 or 12-inch Galaxy Note (Pro) offering. All of these tablets will ship with Android 5.0, in case you were wondering.

Samsung has just started working on these devices according to this report, which means they won’t launch anytime soon, I’d guess Samsung will launch them in the second half of this year, though they might pull the trigger a bit sooner than that. Samsung’s Galaxy Note line of tablets sold well in the past, and I’m rather interesting to see what will Samsung bring to the table this time around. Will they use metal as part of the design while building these tablets, like they did with the Galaxy Note 4? I believe they will, which would make these devices more appealing to consumers I believe, it would make them look and feel premium, which is always a good thing though. Samsung’s OS could also get a significant revamp here, let’s see if Samsung can cut back on bloatware and deliver something really spectacular this time around.
