Google’s Project Ara modular smartphone has come a long way since their vision to bring consumers a phone that they could truly customize from the ground up, from size options to processing power and even camera quality with the different swappable modules that are fitted magnetically to the back of the device. All of these things wouldn’t have come together though without the developer conferences surrounding Project Ara though, and as a reminder if you’re not going to be able to make it to the Project Ara developers conference that happens tomorrow, it will be live streamed so you can view the important details over the web.
The Keynote speech begins promptly at 8 am PST which will be led by Regina Dugan, and is also when the livestream is scheduled to start. The Keynote goes until about 8:30, and then it’s followed by the Project Ara update and roadmap led by Paul Eremenko, going from 8:30 until 9 a.m. The rest of the day consists of many different speeches and lasts through the day till about 8 p.m. in the evening.
In addition to the main keynote speech and the roadmap for where Project Ara is headed next, the team is scheduled to show off Project Ara developer hardware and demo it off, so if you’re going to be at the event that will likely be exciting to see. Google is also scheduled to go over the Module Development Kit 0.20, which they actually released just earlier this morning in preparation for tomorrow’s event. This will be one of the larger focuses of the conference, as it’s one of a handful of speeches that is scheduled to last about an hour where most throughout the day are only set to be about 30 minutes a piece. Tomorrow should be full of exciting news on the future pf Project Ara, although the developer hardware and demo sounds like the coolest part for those of us that are more interested in the device than anything else. If you’re wanting to watch the livestream you can do so from hitting the prior link, which will be broadcast live from Mountain View.
