Oppo has released 2 really solid devices at the end of last year, their new flagship, the Oppo N3, and an extremely thin R5 handset. The R5 was even the thinnest phone in the world for a short period of time, until Vivo released an even thinner, X5 Max handset. That being said, a new device by this Chinese smartphone manufacturer got certified by TENAA back in November, Oppo R8207, also known as the Oppo R1C. We’ve seen several leaks of that device afterwards and a report that it will launch on January 14, a report which was spot on.

Oppo has announced their R1C handset in China. The phone features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics processing. 13-megapixel camera (Sony IMX214, f/2.0 aperture) is located at the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel snapper is available up front. 2,420mAh battery ships with this device, and Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on the Oppo R1C with Oppo’s Color OS 2.0.1 on top of it. This device is only 6.85mm thick, which doesn’t make it the thinnest phone in the world, but it looks good none the less. The device also sports 4G LTE connectivity and two SIM cards, in case you were wondering. This handset also features a sapphire glass back, which allegedly looks great in person, though it looks good on the images as well.

The Oppo R1C will go on sale at 10AM on January 20 in China, you can pre-order a copy now following this link. The phone costs 2,499 Yuan ($403), for those of you who are interested. Now that we covered the launch itself, let us know what you think of this device. Do you like its design and do you think Oppo priced this thing right or should they put a cheaper price tag on this thing? I do believe that the price could have been somewhat lower, and as far as the design goes, I really dig it, looks great in my humble opinion.
