Nokia, what’s left of it that is, surprised everyone by announcing an Android-powered Nokia N1 tablet back in November. Why was this surprising? Well, I believe you all know by now that Nokia’s Devices and Services department was acquired by Microsoft, which left this Finnish company in ruins basically. The vast majority of the company is now Microsoft-owned, but what’s left of it is trying to make their mark out in the market. Nokia is technically not allowed to manufacture devices until 2016, as per their contract with Microsoft, but they found a way to avoid that rule. Nokia N1 wasn’t manufactured by Nokia, Foxconn did that for them.
We’re not here to talk about the N1 though, even though it’s a great tablet and it seems it will be an extremely affordable one as well. We’ve seen a leak / rumor of a Nokia-made Android-powered smartphone last month, the Nokia C1. The image of the phone was rather poor in quality and we weren’t able to see it as we should, though we did get some alleged specs along with that leak. Previous spec leak said that the device will sport a 5-inch 720p display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. 8-megapixel rear-facing and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras were also mentioned, as well as Android Lollipop and Nokia’s Z Launcher.
Today we have some new information regarding this device, a new image leaked along with a set of specifications which are completely different than the previously leaked specs though. As you can see in the images down below, this device sports a rather non-intrusive design and is running Nokia’s Z Launcher, much like the N1. According to the leaked specifications, this device will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) along with 3GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128GB of internal storage, depending on the version you decide to purchase. 20.1 and 5-megapixel camera are mentioned this time around and the leak says the device will be powered by Intel’s quad-core chip clocked at 2.8GHz. 3,100mAh battery is mentioned along with Android Lollipop and Nokia’s Z Launcher. The leak also mentions that there will be a Windows Phone version of this device which will sport basically the same specs, except for the RAM count, that device is expected to rock 2GB of RAM, instead of 3GB which will reportedly be included in the Android version of the device.
There you have it. I don’t know what to believe anymore quite frankly, there are vast differences in these two leaks and I guess the spec sheet is anyone’s guess at the moment. What do you think, will this phone become a reality and how will its spec sheet look like?
