We were able to get some nice hands on with Android Auto in the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid at Hyundai’s booth today at the North American International Auto Show here in Detroit today. There’s nothing really new here, compared to what we saw back at Google I/O this past summer. But it is nice to see it in an actual car, and integrated into the steering wheel. The Steering Wheel has buttons for volume, voice control (Google Now and Siri depending on if you’re using Android Auto or Apple’s CarPlay), as well as previous and next tracks in music. Simply plug in your Android smartphone running Lollipop and voila. It’s really just that easy.
Android Auto will be available in Hyundai’s Geneis, Azera, and Sonata beginning this year, and will likely expand to other models in 2016. Below is a nice picture gallery showing Android Auto in the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.
