Android Lollipop Update Hits The Unlocked HTC One (M8) Devices In Malaysia

Android Lollipop is Google’s latest version of the company’s Android operating system. The company has introduced this OS back in November, and not many devices are running it at this point. Aside from Nexus and Motorola devices, very few of them got the update at this point. LG G3 is another device which got it in certain regions, but as I said, not many of today’s Android handsets run Lollipop compared to KitKat. Lollipop will hit more and more devices as time goes by, of course, and certain manufacturers are working around-the-clock in order to push the update to their handsets as soon as possible.

HTC is one of those manufacturers who are next in line to get the update, this Taiwan-based company has promised that their devices will receive lollipop within 90 days since its launch. This basically means certain HTC devices will get the update in February for sure, if HTC doesn’t face any delays that is, and it seems that won’t be the case. Android 5.0 Lollipop started reaching unlocked HTC One (M8) handset in Malaysia today, which are great news. This basically means the update will soon hit other regions as well, so get ready. The OTA update weighs in at 650MB and brings a slew of Lollipop changes along with it, along with some HTC’s changes in the Sense design department. The new overview is here to replace the multitasking screen, ART (Android Runtime) is here to replace Dalvik, the new Lollipop lockscreen, etc. HTC did not change the whole Sense design though, this is not Sense 7, but Sense 6, so don’t expect to see many UI changes here.
