Straight Talk Now Allows Activation Of Verizon LTE Smartphones On Their Network

AH Straight Talk StraightTalk 1.0

We have learned that Straight Talk would now begin allowing users to activate Verizon LTE based smartphones for use on their service, which is a good thing if you were looking for a new carrier that gives you a cheaper bill but didn’t want to get rid of your Verizon phone. Straight Talk is a Verizon Wireless MVNO so it would have only been a matter of time before they would end up allowing the activation of Verizon LTE devices, they also aren’t the first Verizon MVNO service to offer this capability either as Page Plus has already had this ability for a little while.

If you have a Verizon Phone that you want to switch over to Straight Talk or if you’re already a Straight Talk customer and you’ll be acquiring a Verizon LTE device soon, you can start the process(order)to get your hands on a SIM card that will be compatible with the Verizon LTE phones as of now for just $6.99. It will still be around a week or two before those SIM cards reach Straight Talk though so it could be a little longer than that before you’ll actually be able to get your hands on them physically.

Once you have a compatible SIM that will work inside of a Verizon LTE smartphone, activation should be a simple call to Straight Talk to get the ESN activated with the new SIM, provided it isn’t lost or stolen or still currently activated on Verizon or another one of their other MVNO services. If you’re thinking about switching over to Straight Talk, you’ll be looking at about $45 a month for a 30-day plan that includes Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data, but your unlimited LTE speeds will throttle at 3GB, with a slower throttling speed than most other carries use coming down to about 64kbps. That’s half of the standard of other carriers, so as long as you’re aware of that fact and fine with it, $45 a month doesn’t sound too bad. Are you currently a Straight Talk user? If so how do you find their service compared to others that you have used in the past?
