Motorola was originally expected to rollout the Android 5.0.1 update for the Moto 360 smartwatch yesterday. But it seems like something has gone wrong with the update as the company has now pushed the update to later this week.
The company hasn’t clarified as to what’s causing the delay, but merely mentions that it will take until later this week for the update to finish rolling out. It is likely that Motorola is trying to fix the off center placing of the watch faces which were seen in some units after the Lollipop update made its way to a handful of devices.
Motorola reaffirms that there’s no way to manually pull the update on the device with some customers talking about getting the update after two or three resets. So the only way to go about this whole ordeal is to wait for Motorola to officially start issuing the update later this week.
The new Lollipop update brings a ton of changes to the platform including the ability to download premium and free watch faces directly from the Play Store. Users can also set watch faces for the device directly from the smartphone app rather than doing it manually on the smartwatch.
