Well folks, the time has come. NO more rumors, no more speculation, no more leaked images and no more drama. Today is October 15th and officially Nexus day. Happy Nexus Day guys! And the news is finally starting to emerge. So just to get you up to speed here is the first official Nexus news.
The nexus 9 is here. The device is manufactured by HTC and does look rather snappy. The device will be available for pre-order later this week (Friday October 17th for those that need exact date) and will be available to buy from November 3rd. AND here is the big, big, BIG news…it will be launched with Android 5.0 out of the box. Oh sorry, I meant Android Lollipop. Yep, Android L is no longer L but actually is Lollipop. Like it properly is now…confirmed and all that jazz. For months now we have speculated over what L would be called and I personally had hoped it would be ‘Lion’…Yes, I know but I’m English and rather like the Lion bar. By the way in the US you can pick up Lion bars in Ralphs so check them out. But yes, Android L is here, is Lollipop and IS loaded preinstalled on the new Nexus 9. According to Google it is the sweetest Android yet offering cross-compatibility between all your Android devices including phones, tablets watches and cars. One of the real cool features seems to be the ability to use across devices. For instance, you’re playing a song on one android device, you can pause it and literally continue from the exact point you were at on another L device. That is sweeeet huh!
The nexus 9 comes with a 9” (well 8.9” screen to be precise) and brushed metal sides. According to Google the device “is small enough to easily carry around in one hand, yet big enough to work on”. The Nexus 9 will be available in both 16 and 32 GB variants, comes loaded with a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor (clocks at 2.3 GHz). Not to mention the Nexus 9 will come with an 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera and 6,700 mAh battery.
