Today, Google took the wraps off of the Google Nexus 6, and they also announced it’s coming to all five major US carriers, which was quite surprising. Now we’re learning more details about the launch date and pricing for all the carriers. T-Mobile will be launching it on November 12th. It’ll be going for $649 off contract, so it’s definitely not a cheap Nexus, like we’ve seen with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. But it is a pretty large device. We’re looking at a 6-inch Quad HD Display, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, and a 13MP camera with OIS+. So let’s hope the camera is better, than what we’ve seen in recent years from the Nexus line. The camera on the Moto X (2014) was pretty good, but not amazing.
The T-Mobile model of the Nexus 6 will have a few extras as well. Not extras as in bloat, but it will have WiFi Calling. Which is something we’ve been wanting for a while on the Nexus from T-Mobile. And now we’ve got it. Additionally, it’ll support Band 12 LTE, which is the 750MHz they have been buying up lately and will start rolling out this year. So that’s a big deal for those on T-Mobile. As it’ll give you better signal indoors.
T-Mobile will have the Nexus 6 available on their EIP plans which will be $27.08 per month for 24 months with $0 down. Or you can just pay outright and get it for $649. The model sold on Google Play should have WiFi calling and band 12 LTE, but that’s not confirmed. As soon as it is, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.
