Apple’s big unveil happened this morning at their event held for the new devices they’ll be set to launch later on. The anticipated follow up to the iPhone 5 and 5s was announced today, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. Both devices have finally given something to consumers that has been asked for for quite some time now, a bigger display than the past few iterations of the iPhone. Up until now, the iPhone hasn’t had any screens bigger than 4-inches, although today Apple changed all that with their brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, the former carrying a brand new 4.7-inch display, and the latter carrying a screen size of 5.5-inches, putting the iPhone 6 plus directly in the phablet range to compete with those who want larger displays on their smartphones.
To go along with their brand new larger screened devices, Apple has put out a couple of teaser images that advertise the new larger size, stating that the iPhone 6 is “Bigger than Bigger.” Of course we knew it wouldn’t be long before someone came along and decided to mock Apple over something, anything, in regards to their larger screens, and it seems that Sony is the first to get this train moving. Sony strongly believes in their smartphone products, as well they should because they’re great devices. They have a premium build about them and they look nice, although they fall prey to the same belief that they have remained largely the same in design for the last few models.
Despite this, Sony has found itself putting out an ad of their own to mock Apple’s focus on the larger screen(but really it’s just a dig at Apple in general)with an image posted up to their Twitter account that states “Better than Bigger,” with a hashtag that followed simply saying #demandgreat. We’re sure that this won’t be the last insult that someone flings in Apple’s direction, but Sony was quick to make it well known they were the first to stand up and tease Apple over their new devices. Now that Sony has two more big competitors to contend with, they’ll surely be pulling out all the stops to keep the lineup of new Xperia products in people’s minds, which they have begun to do with this ad that also links to a product page for the Xperia Z3.
