Unless you hid yourself from the world yesterday, you probably know about the two new iPhone models, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Neither brought anything all that new or exciting into play, but both do sport bigger screens than in the past (4.7-inches for the iPhone 6 and 5.5-inches for the 6 Plus). Now, following HTC and Sony’s lead, Samsung are having their fun with the announcement.
Android users have been using large screens for years now, but iPhone users have been stuck with a maximum screen size of 4-inches. As Apple catches up on screen real estate, Samsung have tweeted a humorous image featuring a quote from the late Steve Jobs, who at one time said, “No one is ever going to buy a big phone” in reference to Android phones at the time launching with screen sizes above 4-inches.
I think its safe to say the market has changed since then, and it is necessary for Apple to release a larger iPhone to compete, but the image is still good for a chuckle. Now if Apple would bring something new to the table besides a larger display, maybe they’d be on to something.
