Verizon continues to work on enticing new customers or getting users to upgrade existing devices, this time by offering some additional data. Customers who activate a new smartphone or upgrade to a new smartphone and opt for a MORE Everything plan will be provided an extra gigabyte of data for the first two years. Users do have to select a MORE Everything plan with at least one gigabyte of data. Currently, a 2 GB account costs $50 per month, so using this offer a consumer could get the same 2 GB for the cost of the $40 per month fee for 1 GB. Users would have to factor in the line access charge though which currently runs at $40 for a smartphone.
This move is in addition to Verizon’s new single line package that was announced over the weekend. Under the terms of that offer, users signing up for a single line plan could get a 2 GB data allowance to go with unlimited talk and text for only $60 per month.
