While reviewing the user guide for a Bluetooth speaker with a charging dock, the Sony BSC10, readers noted an unusual entry. Amongst the compatible devices listing is an entry for an “Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact” which seems to imply Sony is working on a tablet device smaller than the typical 10-inch plus devices they produce. Sony is not really a big player in the tablet market to begin with and their limited selection tends toward the larger devices.
Of course a lone listing gives us no clues about what the size or specs of a compact tablet from Sony may be, but odds are it will be in the 7- or 8-inch range. In the past, Sony has produced an Xperia Z1 Compact smartphone which turned out to be similar to the regular Xperia Z1 smartphone in a smaller size. So an Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact could end up being similar to the regular size Xperia Z3 Tablet with Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM and a 1080p capable screen.
