Control the CPU on your Android Phone or Tablet in Material Design with CPU Control

CPU-Control-AH-1

For those of you that root, like I do, you probably use an app to underclock or even overclock your smartphone or tablet. It doesn’t need to be the best looking app as all it’s really doing is changing the min and max CPU settings, as well as the governor and I/O scheduler. But it definitely doesn’t hurt to have a beautiful app doing the job. That’s where CPU Control comes in. Thanks to XDA forum user TheArc . It’s a material design app, that is lightweight and has zero ads. What more could you want? Oh yeah, it works perfectly as well. I’ve been using it on my LG G3 all morning.

It’s important to note that you do need to be rooted here. As you are controlling the CPU in your smartphone. So it does need to be rooted and that’s about the only thing that needs to be done. Right now this is the initial release of CPU Control, but after using it for a bit, I really can’t find anything it needs to fix or improve on just yet. Although it would be nice if it had the features of CPU Spy built in. So you can see what frequency your phone is using the most and make sure it’s going into deep sleep, like we want it too.

For those that are like me and are excited about material design, this is an app to check out just because. Even if you don’t want to change the frequencies on your smartphone, it’s still a fun app to look at, as it is very beautiful. I’ve been using SetCPU since the good old days, but that’s about to change now. How many of you are going to check out CPU Control? Let us know in the comments below.
