The GSM Version of the Moto G 4G Now has CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies

For those of you using the Moto G, and there’s plenty of you, you’ll be happy to know that the Moto G 4G is now getting CyanogenMod 11 nightlies. While you probably won’t want to or need to flash a ROM onto the Moto G, it’s still nice to know that CyanogenMod has us covered. The Moto G has been Motorola’s best selling smartphone of all time, so I’m sure there will be plenty of people picking up CyanogenMod 11 nightlies for the Moto G. And even if you brick it, it’s under $200 to get it replaced, therefore not a big deal, right?

For those unaware, CyanogenMod is an aftermarket software for your phone. It’s basically a new OS. It’s based off of Stock Android and has a ton of improvements and other cool features. Which is why it’s pretty popular. It also gets updated pretty much nightly now. While they are nightlies, they are also usually really stable. I used to run nightlies on my devices all the time, and they were really stable for me. Never really had any issues. Many may think that CyanogenMod is a boring ROM, I think it’s a great one for those that want something stable and don’t want a bunch of features they’ll never use. But with the Moto G already being stock Android, I find it hard to see how many people are actually going to install CyanogenMod on the Moto G.

The Moto G has a 4.5-inch 720p display, with a gig of RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor inside. There’s also a 5MP camera on the back and a 2020mAh battery inside, which brings the Moto G some really great battery life. All that for about $179. Which isn’t bad at all. How many of you with the Moto G are going to be flashing CyanogenMod 11 onto your phone? Let us know in the comments below.
