Samsung just launched the Gear S, but the 3G smartwatch wasn’t the only wearable mentioned in Samsung’s press release. The other device is Gear Circle, a pair of wireless headphones that clasp together like a kind of high-tech necklace.
The Gear Circle isn’t the first design of its kind, with LG, Motorola, and a few other headphone makers dabbing into the Bluetooth sports headsets niche in the past. But Samsung’s device stands out through its design and the vibration feature, that can alert you of incoming calls and notifications. The headphones feature a magnetic clasp that lets you tie them together so the device doesn’t fall off when you’re not using it.
The Gear Circle features Bluetooth 3.0 and is capable of pairing with two devices at the same time, which should come in handy if you also sport a smartwatch. The 180 mAh battery charges via microUSB and should be good for 9 hours of playback.
Samsung is no stranger of high-end headphones and speakers – the company’s Level line of devices recently began selling in the US to good reception.
Samsung announced the Gear Circle would roll out in international markets in October. No word on pricing just yet.
