Soon it looks like Sprint won’t be the only carrier in the US carrying Kyocera’s smartphones. As the Hydro Life just leaked out – from evleaks of course – for T-Mobile. Now you can’t really tell by looking at the device in the picture, but it’s said to be a T-Mobile variant, in their Hydro lineup. Which means it will be water resistant. I reviewed the Kyocera Hydro Vibe on Sprint a few months ago. And while it was a great device, it was nothing extraordinary about it. It featured mid-range specs, and water resistance. Which isn’t bad, but don’t expect it to challenge the LG G3, HTC One M8 or Samsung Galaxy S5. That’s not what it’s meant to do, obviously.
While we don’t know what the specs of the Hydro Life are, it’ll probably be close to the Hydro Vibe, which has a 4.7-inch qHD display, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot and a Snapdragon 400 processor inside. So it’s definitely not a high-end device, but for those just looking for something to check their email, Twitter, Facebook, etc, and have a phone that’s water resistant, this is probably the best choice on T-Mobile when it launches. There are only two other water resistant phones on T-Mobile right now. Which is the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z1s. Which the Xperia Z1s is beginning to get outdated.
T-Mobile has been getting a ton of decent mid-range devices, lately. Which is great because not everyone wants or needs a flagship device with a 2.5GHz quad-core processor. Although it would be nice to have. T-Mobile still has some of the best prepaid plans on the market, so it’s good to see them offering a ton of great devices.
