Nubia Z9’s Retail Packaging Leaks Prior To Announcement

The Nubia Z line is ZTE’s flagship line. The Nubia Z7 is the company’s current flagship, and that device launched back in July 2014. Many people thought that ZTE won’t be releasing its successor until June or July, but it seems that won’t be the case. The company has already scheduled an event for March 26th, and has teased the release of their Nubia Z9 devices at that date. This Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to release the Nubia Z9, Nubia Z9 Mini and Nubia Z9 Max, similar to what they did last year with the Nubia Z7 handsets.

That being said, we’ve already seen the Nubia Z9 Max in the flesh at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, even though the company didn’t officially announce that thing. The Nubia Z9 Mini appeared on AnTuTu benchmark recently, and we’ve seen a ton of Nubia Z9 leaks in the last couple of weeks / months. The latest leak of the Nubia Z9 surfaced a couple of days ago, showing a really sleek looking handset sports really thin bezels. Well, a new leak came in today, showing off the alleged retail packaging of the Nubia Z9. It always seems odd when a retail box leaks, but we’ve been seeing that happen quite often lately. Anyhow, the Nubia Z7’s box was white, and this box is somewhat similar, but it’s black with a touch of red color in the middle. As you can see, this box also has a nice “Nubia” logo imprinted up top.

We still don’t know if ZTE intends to launch all three Nubia Z9 devices on March 26th, but the announcement is just a week away, we’ll find out soon enough. The Nubia Z9 is expected to feature 5.5-inch 1080p or QuadHD display and will quite probably be powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed with ZTE’s skin on top of Google’s operating system. You can also expect 3GB of RAM to ship with this device, and the phone will almost certainly be made out of metal.
