LG has unveiled their G Pad 8.0 tablet back in May last year. The 4G LTE version arrived a couple of months later, in August. The 3G version of this Android-powered tablet is finally making its way to India it seems, though not directly through LG. This tablet is now available in this Asian country through Snapdeal, a rather well-known retailer. The LG G Pad 8.0 is a mid-range tablet, and it is available in multiple color options from Snapdeal. Anyhow, let’s check out its specs.
The LG G Pad 8.0 comes sporting an 8-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display along with 1GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card). This tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz which comes with an Adreno 305 GPU for graphics rendering. 5-megapixel snapper is available on the back of this tablet, and a 1.3-megapixel shooter is located up front. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here with LG’s UI on top of Google’s OS. 4,200mAh battery is also a part of this package, same goes for Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n. The G Pad 8.0 measures 210.8 x 124.2 x 9.9mm and weighs 342 grams. The tablet itself is made out of plastic, and its design is kind of understated.
That being said, this tablet is available in Black and White color options from Snapdeal, and it will cost you Rs. 17,999 ($288) should you choose to purchase one. The tablet also comes with a free flip cover accessory. This device will have a lot of competition in India, there are a lot of available small tablets over there, and we all know how competitive Indian market is at this point. LG will quite probably unveil a successor of this device in a couple of months, but the company plans to unveil their new flagship handset prior to that though, the LG G4. This handset will launch next month, and based on the latest information from LG’s executives, we can expect quite a few changes as far as both software and hardware goes. LG did really well in 2014, and it remains to be see if they’ll be able to do something similar this year.
