Xiaomi has announced quite a few devices this year already, including the company’s new flagship offerings, the Mi Note devices. This China-based company has announced the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro handsets back in January. These two handsets sport premium build and quite powerful internals, especially the Mi Note Pro which will ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC and 4GB of RAM. That being said, only the Mi Note is available at the moment, and Xiaomi has even announced a special version of this device a couple of days ago.
This Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced the Mi Note with a bamboo back cover two days ago. This “special” version of the Mi Note is identical to the regular version in every aspect, except for the fact it features the bamboo back cover. Anyhow, a Chinese mobile news portal PCPop managed to get their hands on the device and compare it to the regular Mi Note. As a result of that, we got a bunch of side-by-side comparison images of these two devices, and also a ton of images of the bamboo version alone. The images are located in the gallery down below and they’ll give you a good idea of what this handset looks like. Quite a few manufacturers are making these special wood back covers these days, and it seems like consumers like them. Unlike some other OEMs, Xiaomi decided to keep the same price point for this handset. The bamboo version of the Mi Note cost 2,299 Yuan ($367) in China, and can already be pre-ordered. The Mi Note features a 5.7-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 quad-core SoC. This handset will go on sale next Tuesday, in case you were wondering. Xiaomi did not reveal any details regarding availability of this handset outside of China, at least not yet. As a side note, some rumors are claiming that the company plans to release a bamboo version of their Mi Pad tablet as well. If there’s any truth to those rumors, the company will certainly do that soon, because the next-gen Mi Pad is just around the corner.
