Lenovo has announced the company’s new 8-inch Tab 2 A8 during MWC 2015 in Barcelona yesterday. We’ve already covered the main announcement of this thing, and it’s time to to take a look at the device now. We managed to get our hands on the device itself at MWC, and you’ll find a bunch of images in the gallery down below. As you can see in the images, we got our hands on the blue-black version of the tablet (officially called Midnight Blue), and it’s design is quite understated. You won’t see any flashy design cues here, but the device itself looks solid overall. This is Lenovo’s mid-range, extremely affordable offering, and it’s basic version is going to cost only $129 when Lenovo makes it available for purchase.
This tablet features an 8-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of in-built storage which you can expand via microSD card slot if you want. MediaTek’s 64-bit quad-core processor on the inside, the Wi-Fi variant ships with MT8161, and the LTE version is powered by MT8735 MediaTek unit. 5-megapixel camera is located on the back of this tablet in case you need to capture an image or two, and the company has also included Dolby Atmos for the speakers here. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with Lenovo’s custom UI on top of Google’s OS.
This tablet will be available for purchase in June this year according to Lenovo. The basic Wi-Fi model will cost $129, while the LTE version will cost you $179. You’ll be able to choose between four color options: Pearl White, Midnight Blue, Neon Pink and Ebony. Take a look at the provided images in the gallery down below and let us know whether you’d consider purchasing this tablet or not. Its price is extremely appealing, so it might interest some people. Anyhow, let us know what you think in the comments, as usual.
