Dropbox and Vodafone have struck a big deal that will help both companies, as well as their customers. Dropbox is going to come preloaded on the majority of Vodafone’s Android devices, offering customers a way to securely back up and store their data. Get this, though. Dropbox is giving users who buy one of these phones a whopping 25GB of storage space free for a full year. Basic Dropbox users get 2GB of free space right now so a bump up to 25GB is pretty massive, even if it is only for a year. “Starting next month, new Dropbox users will get 25 GB of Dropbox space for a year on Vodafone’s iPhone and Android phones, and the Dropbox app will come preloaded on the majority of Vodafone’s Android phones. Vodafone will also exclusively integrate Dropbox into its new Backup+ service, to give customers an easy way to keep their mobile data safe,” Dropbox said in their announcement.

Vodafone is integrating Dropbox into its Backup+ service, making it easy to back up your photos, videos, and other files to your Dropbox storage space instead of Vodafone’s own cloud storage. “Vodafone’s customers are downloading and sharing more and more multimedia files thanks to its fast and reliable networks. Backup+ will give them an easy and secure way to keep their mobile data safe by linking to a Dropbox account. Backup+ will enable Vodafone customers to seamlessly and automatically sync their contacts. They will also save all their precious things — photos, videos and more — into a safe and secure Dropbox account. Any files saved through Backup+ can also be simply and easily restored to any new device or accessed and shared through the Dropbox mobile application,” Vodafone said on their blog.

All of this starts next month. If you’re a Vodafone customer that is looking for some extra storage space, all you have to do is buy a new phone that has Dropbox pre-installed Vodafone’s Backup+ service is rolling out in waves and will be available to most customers within a few months, although the Backup+ app should be available for download by the end of the March. If you’re new to Dropbox and are looking for a little extra space, use this link to get an additional 500MB of cloud storage space for free.
