HTC has been having issues keeping their profits up for quite some time now. The company had to cut costs and re-structure last year in order to turn profit. This Taiwan-based company simply has to sell more devices in order to earn more money, and that’s why they’re expanding and trying to manufacture various devices, not only smartphones. The company has released the RE Camera gadget last year, and it seems like they’re working on some wearables as well. One device that did great as far as sales go last year was the company’s flagship smartphone, the One (M8). HTC has released its successor during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this month, and the device was already supposed to ship out to users who pre-ordered it in Taiwan, but that didn’t happen.
The One (M9) was supposed to be delivered by March 16th in Taiwan, but it hasn’t. It seems like HTC has delayed the One (M9) shipments due to some software issues. According to reports from Taiwan, the One (M9) shipments have been delayed because the device is planned to receive “the latest version of software”. Some customers who pre-ordered the device have allegedly been told by the company that their device will arrive in the next few days, and the 64GB model shipments may be delayed even more. On the other hand, one ‘Mobile01′ user in Taiwan claims that the update is not the reason for delays, he claims that the device is having software issues which can lead to boot failure.
Either way, the One (M9) shipments in Taiwan are delayed, and we’re hoping that these delays won’t affect the international launch timeframe of HTC’s newest flagship. The One (M9) was also supposed to go on sale today, but that didn’t happen either. According to reports, the launch is delayed for March 20th, which is only a 4-day delay, but that really didn’t make the consumers happy. Anyhow, we’ll see what happens in a few days, the company will hopefully ship out the pre-ordered devices soon and the handset will be available for purchase on March 20th.
