Head Of LG’s Mobile Divison: “We Will Announce LG UX 4.0 Before Announcing The LG G4″

I don’t know if you recall this, but one of LG’s executives said a while back that the company will launch the LG G4 in April in order to avoid both Samsung and Apple flagship announcements. We’ve covered Cho Juno’s statements from MWC recently as well, the Head of LG Electronics’ mobile division confirmed that the LG G4 will be radically different than its predecessor, and that the company intends to launch another flagship line of devices which will be even more premium than the G line. Mr. Juno also mentioned something about the new version of LG’s UX Android skin. He said that the UX 4 will be a major update of LG’s software, and he also added the following: “We will announce LG UX 4.0 before announcing the LG G4. I think it is simply the best and the issue is how to best fit the new UX system into the G4 smartphone.” So, we can expect LG to announce the UX 4.0 before their next flagship devices, which is a bit unorthodox fo LG, but there you have it. If LG really intends to launch the G4 in April, that means that we’ll see this new UI introduced either this month, or next month before the unveiling takes place.

It remains to be seen what LG intends to change in the upcoming UX 4.0, but considering the fact that LG intends to release this separately from their upcoming flagship handset, the changes might be really significant. Mr. Juno didn’t share any details regarding the software itself though, so we really don’t know what to expect at this point, we can only guess. We can expect a flatter version of the UI though, that much is obvious at this point. LG might decide to continue cleaning up their UI, the company has been doing a good job thus far, but their software offering is still somewhat cluttered and LG might opt to clean it up even further in this new update.
