Xiaomi has released a couple of really compelling handsets this year along with some additional smart gadgets. The Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are company’s newest flagship handsets, these two devices were announced about two weeks ago in Beijing and they look basically the same as far as the design goes, they’re significantly different on the inside though. More on that later though, we’re here to take a look at Xiaomi’s rather funny ad, so, let’s get to it.
This video was actually shown during the launch event in China, so you might have seen it if you were following the livestream of that event, if not, you can do that now, the video is embedded below this article, Anyhow, this ad features Xiaomi’s CEO, Lin Bin, and two other (presumably) Xiaomi employees. This video is clearly making fun of iPhone’s protruding camera on the back, and is doing that in a really odd way, if you’d like to avoid spoilers before watching the video, now would be a good time to skip to the video itself. Lin Bin, and the two other people in the video, are showcasing a Xiaomi frying pan which is used to flatten the protruding camera on the iPhone 6. After a few fake swings at the camera, suddenly a Xiaomi Mi Note appears instead of the iPhone 6, sporting its camera which is not sticking on the back of the device. This video made me laugh, again, but it’s very odd and… well, I don’t know if inappropriate is the right word but… yeah. Anyhow, let us know what you think about all this in the comments, we’d love to hear from you, I do expect some interesting comments regarding all this.
The Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are identical as far as the design goes, and part of the specs as well. Both of these handsets sport a 5.7-inch display, but the differences is in their resolution, the Mi Note sports a 1080p display, while the Mi Note Pro features a 2K panel. There are several other differences as well, the cheaper model is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC and ships with 3GB of RAM, while the more expensive device comes with the Snapdragon 810 SoC and 4GB of RAM. You can get more information about each of these devices if you visit our separate announcement articles (linked above).
