Among flagship devices, the spec race usually revolves around features like processors or screens. A new smartphone from Saygus goes in a slightly different route by packing lots of other features into a single device. The Saygus V2 is a 5-inch Android powered smartphone that comes with a 1920 x 1080 resolution display, a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon processor, 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. That set of hardware by itself is quite impressive and puts the device on par with several other leading smartphones on the market. Saygus did not stop there though and added a lot of other top hardware in the mix.

Saygus gave the V2 a 21 MP rear-facing camera that includes optical image stabilization and a 13 MP front-facing camera. Almost unique on the market, Saygus also equipped the V2 with a dedicated shutter button for the camera, located on the right hand edge of the device. That hardware should please most buyers who focus on camera capabilities in their smartphones.

For internal storage, Saygus has given the V2 not one, but two, microSD card slots. Between the two slots the device can support up to 256 GB of expandable storage space. When combined with the onboard storage of 64 GB, the V2 user could have 320 GB of storage available in their mobile device. Saygus also says the device can boot from a microSD card meaning multi-boot options could be available for users.

The Saygus V2 supports a wide array wireless protocols including Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.- Low Energy, 60 GHz wireless and IR giving the device the ability to function as a remote control. The micro-USB port supports Device, Host, OTG and MHL (HDMI). Saygus also includes a fingerprint scanner in the V2. Sensors include GPS, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a compass, proximity, and dual ambient light sensors (front and back). Audiophiles get built-in stereo speakers and Harman Kardon sound technology along with 3 microphones.

All of the hardware is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery that is Qi wireless charging compatible. To help protect everything, Saygus wraps the device in a new waterproof technology that achieves an IPX7 rating.

About the only thing Saygus seems to have left out of the V2 is Android Lollipop as the smartphone will only come with Android 4.4.4 KitKat when it is released sometime during the first quarter of 2015. Saygus has not released any pricing information, but they do say that despite all the hardware they have blessed the device with, the price will be competitive.
