Running or doing any type of exercising with a set of wired earbuds has always been a nuisance for me, simply because the cord always seems to get in the way. Coloud has an answer for something like this, a new set of earbuds they’ve just announced called the Snap, which among other things, has a tiny little piece that can be attached and “snapped” into place essentially, onto your clothing so it stays put and stays secure during exercise and movement. Coloud states this also helps to cut down on friction noise, which actually seems like a good idea to incorporate into a set of earbuds if you’re big on audio.
Coloud says the Snap was designed with the “urban adventurer in mind,” and while the cable clip is a nice little feature, the flat cable should help to keep things from getting all tangled up which can happen from time to time with all the movement during exercise, or when you stuff the earbuds into your pocket. The Snap also features what Coloud calls the Zound lasso, which basically allows the user to neatly wrap up the cable and fasten it in place(shown in the image below)making for less of a mess should you need to store these away at any point.
Perhaps a strong point at grabbing the attention of runners and cyclists is the reflective flat cable which gives you that much more visibility during night runs or rides, something I feel is a complete oversight most of the time when companies are designing earbuds for the people with active lifestyles. No amount of visibility is too much when it’s dark but you still want to get in your exercise. There’s also an adjustable anchorloop which allows the wearer to adjust the size of the in-ear fit, keeping things nice and comfortable during any active things you do, and you’ll find another standard(but useful) feature like the mic and remote for music control. The Snap comes in a variety of different colors too,(orange, green, and black)and will only end up costing consumers $30 when they launch later this year in 2015 on June 2nd.
