Wireless MVNO Ting is offering you up to $150 towards your current carrier’s ETF if you will cancel with them and switch to Ting. The offer is good through January 5th. Ting will give you 50% o your current early termination fee, up to $150. That means if you have an ETF of $100, Ting will give you $50. If you’re current ETF is $300, then they will give you the full $150. Not a bad deal if you’re looking to get out from under your current wireless provider and move on to something new.
Ting is an MVNO, or Mobile Virtual Network Operator. They operate on Sprint’s network. That may work for you, it may not, but it’s something to think about if you’re considering making a switch. Lots of MVNOs partner with Sprint, but Sprint’s network isn’t the greatest or the fastest in some parts of the country. Ting offers packages for as little as $3, so you could save a lot of money if you play your cards right. You could use Hangouts over Wi-Fi to do most of your messaging and calling and really save on voice minutes and data usage.
Of course, you’ll have to have a Sprint compatible phone to use with Ting. They sell them on their website, and you do have the option of bringing your own device if you want, as long as it will work with Sprint’s network. You can even grab a Nexus 6 from the Play Store and it should work for you. Again, weigh your options and figure out what will work for you before making a big move. This offer from Ting is a decent one and it may work out well for you. You can check the Sprint coverage in your area on their coverage website.
What do you think? Is Ting an option that you would look at when you are switching wireless carriers? Drop us a line in the comments and let us know.
